Violent Man is the third single in Bantam Foxes' first volume of singles. The bed tracks (most of the song) were recorded in just one take, with only a few overdubs for guitar solos and vocals, and the song also features our friends Matt Rosenthal and Taylor Gray on handclaps. Give it a listen.
lyrics
Pain is not just something you should accept
You should want nothing to do with it
You're brutish and you are violent
The dirt is not now just for the flowers
Or your earthly powers
The dust through which you flounder
I'm not a violent man
Why don't you uh-under-understand
To call me a serial monogamist makes me seem so violent
Force is difficult and expansive
It's just a simple derivative
The execution diminutive
Explain the full qualitative meaning
Of the words that you are singing
And give up all your dreaming
I'm not a violent man
Why don't you uh-under-understand
Even the worst dog knows chasing tail is a waste of time
The rain is quickly drowning everything
The lovers that you are offering
Are not too good at remembering
You're high off what seem to be helium
Your expressions bring delirium
Suddenly i've grown wearisome
I'm not a violent man
Why don't you uh-under-understand
